Cicada & Sage is a new tattoo shop in the East Tennessee area. My client and old friend Josh moved to New York to expand his tattooing abilities so he could bring his experience back to his hometown. Josh wanted something new and fresh for his shop so they could stand out from the small-town shops that didn't have any sort of brand in place. Cicada & Sage has a bit of a deeper meaning. Cicadas traditionally symbolize a sense of change, rebirth, or transformation while sage typically symbolizes great wisdom. These elements show what Josh brings to the table. Moving away to the big city so he could come back home conditioned with his new skills and knowledge in tattooing.
